Just wanted to share a few random pictures of things we have done over the last few months!
Feathers, Native American vests, Pilgrim hats, Pilgrim vests, food, and more! We got all dressed up and ready for a feast with our friends! We even had Native American names like Brave Cheetah, Whispering Butterfly, Jumping Fish, and more! The kids learned so much about the lives of Pilgrims and Native Americans throughout our preparation for the feast. The most memorable for me was making homemade butter like the Pilgrims! I also included pictures of their Turkey projects : )
We conducted an election in our class! We voted for a class president! We nominated, campaigned, voted and finally elected Khloe as our class president and Logan as our class Vice President. I didn't get many pictures but enjoy their campaign commercials!
We had so much fun learning all about Lois Ehlert, the author! She loves nature and animals, and most of her books are about these things. She is a great example of a fantastic author that writes about things from her life! We went on a leaf hunt and made our own leaf characters inspired by Lois Ehlert's book Leaf Man. So much fun!
We had so much fun learning our math doubles! Here is the world premier of their brand new music video: "Doubles Rap"
Pumpkin day was a huge success! We spent lots of time learning about the life cycle of a pumpkin, pumpkin types, and how pumpkins decompose. On pumpkin day, the kids measured their pumpkins, checked if they would float or sink, and wrote adjectives about them. They even tasted different pumpkin food items. Everyone loved the pumpkin candy...not too many loved mashed pumpkin in a can...shocking! We even dug the seeds out of big pumpkins and counted them! The last thing we did was played pumpkin related games with our 3rd grade buddies. The kids did a fabulous job! Thank you to ALL the amazing parents who helped with pumpkin day!
I love being a teacher! This is my 6th year, and I love to watch these amazing kiddos grow right in front of my eyes. I am privileged to provide them with hands on learning experiences that will help them love learning. Have fun taking a peek into our classroom!
