This is definitely our favorite way to practice sounding out words!
A few weeks ago we collected soil samples from our playground to examine. Carlo mentioned that maybe we could plant a seed in our soil. So we germinated some Lima beans in paper towels. Then we transferred these into our soil. Next we observed them over a week or so and boy did they grow up fast! We drew a diagram of our plants and labeled the parts (stem, leaf, and roots). Every day they changed drastically, until they were too big for our window sill! Now they have a new home at each of our houses!
This year was our first annual Science Experiment rotation. It was so awesome because we got to visit other teachers and do all kinds of experiments. We learned lots of science concepts while having tons of fun!
I love being a teacher! This is my 6th year, and I love to watch these amazing kiddos grow right in front of my eyes. I am privileged to provide them with hands on learning experiences that will help them love learning. Have fun taking a peek into our classroom!
